Not far off shore in Mississippi, a couple were out boating, enjoying a lovely, sunny day. For that moment at least, the oil spill was not a concern. The mildly lapping waters showed no sign of anything wrong despite reports of tarballs washing ashore in some places along the Mississippi coast.
For now much of Mississippi’s waters have been spared, shrimp season has opened around its usual time and boats are out in search of a bounty.
On the beach, families sunbathed and played in the shallow waters. So at least for now, life goes on as usual.
