Recipe for a quick cool down

My daughter all of a sudden is into fruit smoothies. She just can’t get enough of them. So we keep trying new blends of fruits to keep it interesting. At least summer time is full of fresh fruit to choose from.

Here’s a recipe for what seems to be her favorite so far:

Fresh Fruit Smoothie

1/2 cup orange juice

1/2 cup apple juice

2 scoops raspberry sherbet

1/2 cup fresh blueberries

1/2 cup fresh strawberries (stems, hulls removed)

Put everything into a blender and blend for a few seconds – until everything is fairly smooth. Blend a little longer if you don’t like bits of fruit hanging around.

Pour into a tall glass and top with about 1/4 cup grapefruit soda to add a little zing to the smoothie.
