OK, so what’s a little rain? I drove to the beach anyway, just to see the water and smell the salt (and oil) in the air.
East Beach was very clean — probably cleaner than any other time I had ever been there. I had to stop, then, to walk a little on the beach (in the rain).
It was beautiful. No one else around. Just white sand, brown water, a little green grass. Nice.
I spotted a group of birds at the water’s edge, looking for food I presume, and just hanging out. I didn’t want to get too close — they would all fly off — but I got as close as I could, and just watched them for awhile. I’m not a bird expert, so I don’t want to try and tell you what kinds of birds they are. I’d probably get it wrong.
Here’s a shot from my little Nikon Coolpix. Not the greatest, but it was the best I could do in the rain … You can see Biloxi in the background, and part of the new Biloxi-Ocean Springs bridge, if you look closely.
