Tribute to Ed Blake

My friends Robert and Stephen are some of the kindest and most brilliant people I know.

They are well-loved by many, and for good reason. Not only are they creative artists, they have good taste in art. The exhibits they show at their Gallery Rx are few, but they are very selective, and well worth going to see.

At today’s Art Walk downtown they featured an exhibit of works by the late Ed Blake, an internationally known landscape architect. But he also was an artist and photographer. Ed Blake was another man who was well respected and loved by everyone who knew him.

His work, too, was respected, and is featured locally at the Lake Terrace Convention Center and Crosby Arboretum, in other parts of Mississippi, including Vicksburg Art Park and Rowan Oak in Oxford,  nationally at such places as the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and internationally at The Pride of Sichuan Chengdu, China.

The exhibit at Gallery Rx featured Blake’s artwork and photography as well as a video presentation of Blake’s works with nature. It was a fitting tribute and farewell.
