It seems there’s always some big festival going on in New Orleans. This weekend is no exception. The 2010 Crescent City Blues and Barbecue Festival is organized by the same people who put on Jazz Fest every year.
The two-day festival was held at Lafayette Square, a dog-friendly park. Blues great Taj Mahal was headlining act, but there were plenty of other talented musicians taking the stage over the weekend, including Little Freddie King and Ruthie Foster.
It was a nice day to sit out in the sun with my friend, Ben, and listen to some good music. We stayed for awhile, wandered off to the French Quarter for awhile, and came back again later – my friend Melissa was still working and couldn’t join us. Would have to catch up with her again later.
