Space Shuttle Endeavour

The Space Shuttle Endeavour is scheduled to take off on April 29 for its final mission.

This event is special for two reasons: The significance of its final launch and the planned visit by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., wife of astronaut Mark Kelly, the mission’s commander.

Giffords was seriously injured when she and others were gunned down in January at a public event outside a supermarket in Tucson, Ariz. Giffords was shot in the head, but apparently has been making a remarkable recovery.

Reports are out that she will be able to fly to Florida to watch her husband and the shuttle take off.
