Guacamole is a treat to share with friends

Avocados are one of my favorite foods. I go through phases where I will eat one every day. I love the creaminess, the vibrant color.

Second best to eating them as they are is turning them into guacamole, made with fresh ingredients and served fresh. It’s best served with friends.

3 ripe hass avocados

1/4 medium onion, minced

1 large clove garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, minced

1 large dried cayenne pepper, minced

juice of 1 lime

kosher salt and pepper to taste

Halve the avocados and remove the pit. Place the avocado halves in a bowl and mash with a fork. Stir in remaining ingredients. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

NOTE: If an avocado isn’t quite ripe, microwave it for 15 to 20 seconds to soften it a little.
